This is a first-pass sanity check to help spot obvious red flags. It is NOT a definitive malware or phishing scan, and a 'clean' result does not guarantee the link is safe.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a real anti-phishing scanner?
No. It's a heuristic tool that highlights common red flags in a URL. It does not fetch the page, run a reputation database or scan for malware. Never rely on a 'clean' result alone.
Why is punycode flagged?
Punycode (xn--…) lets attackers register domains that look identical to real ones by mixing scripts (e.g. Cyrillic 'а' in place of Latin 'a'). Legitimate international domains use it too, so a flag is a prompt to check, not an automatic verdict.
Are URL shorteners always bad?
No — they're widely used legitimately. But they hide the destination, so they're worth expanding (many shorteners let you preview the target) before clicking.
Is my URL uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser; we never see the URL you paste.
