- Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?
- No. All processing uses pdf-lib in your browser, so your documents never leave your device.
- Is there a file size limit?
- Only what your browser and device can handle in memory. Most PDFs of a few hundred MB work fine on a modern laptop.
- How does the compress option work?
- We re-save the PDF with optimised object streams. Savings vary depending on the source file — image-heavy PDFs compress less than text-only ones.
- Which image formats can I convert to PDF?
- JPG and PNG are embedded directly. WebP, GIF and BMP are re-encoded via canvas before being added to the PDF.
